The Palm House

It’s the 1940s. I only chose that period because people wore hats most of the time, and such a variety, partly to cheer themselves up during rationing and partly because they understood that hats maketh the man, or woman.

These ladies are walking around the palm house at Kew, which was designed by Victorians to tame and showcase all things wild. I like to play off the wild and the curated. How much of this is artful display and how much “natural”? How natural is the outward appearance of humans?
